Parking Lot
Project
After tremendous
prayerful consideration, the Session of Community United
Presbyterian Church approved an extensive project to
“permanently” repair the church parking lot after a harsh winter
took a significant toll on its condition.
A complete concrete parking lot surface will be installed
beginning Monday, June 7, 2010, weather permitting.
After further prayer, it has been determined that the cost of
this project will be paid through a generous gift from the Sally
Farley estate.
Though many of us may not have known Sally personally, she had a
deep love for her Lord and for the church that nurtured that
faith in her younger days growing up in Hartford. She had no
desire to be formally recognized for her faithfulness in her
financial support of CUPC, but she was truly interested in the
mission and ministries of the church as shown by her gifts
through the years.
In the economic times that we currently are all experiencing,
Sally’s gift will provide for a tremendous need of the church
she loved to be fulfilled. When the project is complete, there
will be a time to celebrate her life and give thanks to God for
His providence in providing for the needs of CUPC through Sally
and her generosity.
An “informational” gathering will be held following worship on
June 6, 2010. If you are unable to attend and have any
questions, please contact a member of Session or Pastor Nathan. |

June
Worship Schedule
In light
of the parking lot project scheduled to begin on Monday,
June 7, 2010, worship services for June 13, 20, & 27,
2010, are scheduled to be shared at Scotch Ridge
Presbyterian Church.
CLP Doug Bolsem and the Scotch Ridge congregation have
generously extended an invitation for the CUPC church
family to worship at their church during the time the
CUPC parking lot project is underway.
The worship responsibilities will be shared between the
pastors (with the exception of June 20 when Pastor
Nathan is gone). For all others who have
worship/fellowship assignments during this time, you
will be contacted if your assistance will still be
needed!
Worship at Scotch Ridge begins at 10:30 a.m. with
fellowship following some Sundays!
If you would like a ride, please sign the sheet in
fellowship hall by June 6, 2010, or call Dave Walker at
210-7191 leaving a message if there is no answer!

Community
United Presbyterian Church (CUPC) is a warm and open Church. It is
deeply rooted in the old and new Scriptures. CUPC is a part of the
Carlisle-Hartford Ministerial Alliance.
Throughout the year the Churches of the Hartford and Carlisle
Communities gather together for joint worship services. Currently those
times of worship are Good Friday, Sunrise Easter Service and the evening
before Thanksgiving.
In addition to the above, the Church is also used for Scouts and other
Civic functions. Many rent the Church for wedding receptions, family
reunions, or other events.
CUPC is a church that is diverse in its religious background.

What
are you looking for in a Church?
People look for different things in a Church. Some look for the warmth
and comfort of Churches that they grew up in. Others are looking for the
convenience of knowing everyone who worships with them. Some are looking
for families to claim as their own.
Whatever it is you are looking for in a Church, you can be sure that you
will find it within the walls of Community United Presbyterian Church.
You are welcome to come see the richness of Community United
Presbyterian Church.
Regardless if you would like to join us in worship or would like to
become a confirmed member, we want to welcome you as part of our church
family!
